Privacy Policy

1. About RecoveryCompass

RecoveryCompass (recoverycompass.net) is an independent information resource about addiction treatment. We publish educational guides and maintain a directory of addiction treatment centers in Israel. We are not a treatment provider, crisis service, or emergency hotline.

2. What we collect

Server logs: Our hosting provider automatically logs your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This data is used only to diagnose technical problems and understand aggregate traffic patterns. Logs are retained for up to 90 days.

Contact and inquiry forms: When you submit a form on RecoveryCompass — including the Get Help, Contact, Report Incorrect Information, or Claim / Update Listing forms — we may collect your name, email address, and phone number. Forms that invite you to describe what you are looking for may receive messages that include treatment-related or health-related context you choose to share. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without explicit consent.

Language preference: We store a small cookie to remember your language choice (English, Russian, or Hebrew). This cookie contains no personal information and is not used for tracking.

3. Treatment-related information

RecoveryCompass does not require you to share health information. If you choose to include treatment-related or health-related context in an inquiry — for example, in the optional message field — we treat that information with particular care. We use it only to respond to your request. It is not published, sold, shared with treatment centers, or used for advertising or remarketing.

We do not require registration or account creation to use the directory. We do not ask for your health history, treatment records, or substance use details.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not use advertising networks or data brokers. We do not share your inquiry information with treatment centers unless you explicitly ask us to connect you. If we are required by Israeli law to disclose information, we will comply only to the extent legally required and will inform you where permitted.

5. Third-party links

Our directory links to the websites of treatment centers and public health resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. Please review their privacy policies before submitting personal information to them.

6. Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days. Form submissions and related correspondence are retained only as long as needed to respond to the inquiry, and no longer than 12 months, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution reasons. You may request deletion at any time.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to request that we erase personal data we hold about you (right to erasure). To make a request, email us at providers@recoverycompass.net. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Our site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a parent or guardian uses our forms on behalf of a minor, we ask that no detailed medical information about the minor be included. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
